Our business
We are the UK's largest water and wastewater services company. Every day, we supply 2,600 million litres of tap water to 8.7 million customers across London and the Thames Valley.
We carry out over 400,000 tests per year to ensure our drinking water meets stringent UK and European standards.
We also remove and treat 2,800 million litres of sewage for an area covering 13.8 million customers.
Our 349 sewage treatment works include Beckton, in East London, which is the largest in Europe. Several of these works create renewable energy, making us the biggest generator of 'green power' within the M25.
Investment
Major projects include our London Tideway Improvements programme, which will help provide the capital with a sewerage system fit for the 21st century and beyond.
We are also replacing the capital's oldest water mains, many of them more than 100 years old, to reduce leakage and safeguard supplies for the future. We have already replaced over 1,300 miles of pipes.
